Marc Márquez admits that his accident during the Dutch TT MotoGP sprint race was the result of his own mistake. The Gresini Ducati rider was in fifth place when he hit the curb at Turn 2 and went off track, ending his race. Meanwhile, his title rivals Pecco Bagnaia and Jorge Martín finished first and second. Martín now leads the championship with a 15-point advantage, with Bagnaia in second place. Márquez acknowledged that it was a human error and described it as one of those accidents that could have been avoided.

Márquez’s accident during the sprint race was not his only incident of the day. He also went off track during qualifying at Turn 7. Márquez explained that he didn’t plan to overtake at that point, but he saw Aleix Espargaró braking abruptly and preparing for the turn, so he decided to make a maneuver. Unfortunately, he lost the front of his bike on a small bump and crashed. Despite these incidents, Márquez stated that he was not upset with Espargaró’s actions, as it is a normal part of racing.

Márquez’s response regarding Espargaró also hinted at the traffic issues during qualifying at Assen. The circuit is known for congestion, with riders lining up for fast laps. When asked if it was too much, Márquez acknowledged that it can be a problem on high-speed circuits like Assen and Phillip Island. However, he also stated that it is part of racing and riders need to find a way to survive without hindering each other.
