Maro Engel Dominates Oschersleben DTM Qualifying with Blazing Speed

Maro Engel Dominates Oschersleben DTM Season Opener

The roar of engines filled the air at the Börde circuit in Oschersleben, Germany, as Maro Engel from Monaco revved his way to the top in the DTM season opener. The Mercedes-AMG Team Winward Racing driver left his competitors in the dust by setting the fastest qualifying time, clocking in at a lightning-fast 1:22.321 minutes.

Engel’s precision and skill were on full display as he maneuvered his car with finesse around the track, leaving last year’s third-place finisher in his wake. His dedication to refining the car’s balance paid off, propelling him to the front of the pack as he geared up for what promises to be a thrilling motorsport weekend.

Not far behind Engel was Jordan Pepper from South Africa, piloting the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 to a solid second-place finish, a mere 0.117 seconds adrift. Maximilian Paul from Dresden showcased his driving prowess, clinching the third spot on the grid with a time of 1:22.546 minutes.

As the drivers geared up for the intense qualifying round, the tension was palpable. With overtaking proving to be a challenging feat at the Oschersleben circuit, every fraction of a second would count in determining the ultimate victor.

In a surprising twist, Jules Gounon of the Mercedes-AMG Team Mann-Filter secured the fourth spot, setting the stage for a fierce battle on the track. Thomas Preining emerged as the top Porsche driver, claiming the fifth spot and showing his mastery of the tight circuit.

The afternoon practice session saw temperatures rise and speeds soar as twelve drivers shattered the 1:23.000-minute mark. Spectators were treated to a nail-biting showdown as late lead changes kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

Engel once again stole the show, strategically timing his run to perfection and edging out his competitors with a stellar performance on new Pirelli slick tires. With his eyes set on victory, Engel’s dominance on the track was a sight to behold, solidifying his status as a force to be reckoned with in the DTM circuit.

As the engines cooled and the drivers prepared for the main event, all eyes were on Maro Engel as he geared up to showcase his speed and skill in what promises to be an adrenaline-fueled race weekend at Oschersleben.
