Marko questions if Stroll really wants to be a Formula 1 driver.

The ability of Aston Martin F1 team’s pilot, Lance Stroll, to achieve satisfactory results in Formula 1 is being questioned by Red Bull advisor, Helmut Marko. Stroll, who has been with the team since 2018, has consistently been classified as the second driver in the rankings throughout his career. Last season, he finished 132 points behind his teammate, Fernando Alonso, and this season, he is 24 points behind after nine races. Despite his performance, Stroll’s position within Aston Martin is secure due to his father’s ownership of the team. Marko expressed doubts about Stroll’s work ethic and his ability to deliver consistent results. He mentioned Stroll’s past successes, such as his podium in Baku in 2017 and his pole position in Turkey in 2020, but also mentioned his inconsistent performances. Marko questioned whether Stroll really wants to be a driver and whether he puts in enough effort to achieve good results. When asked if Stroll is good enough to keep his place on the F1 grid, Marko stated that it is difficult to say as he does not know Stroll well enough to judge his efforts. Despite Marko’s comments, Stroll remains fully committed to Aston Martin and is excited about the team’s future. He highlighted the new wind tunnel and facilities in Silverstone, as well as the addition of talented staff, as reasons for his enthusiasm. Stroll sees himself as part of the project and is dedicated to its success.
