Marko: I have no comment concerning the Horner inquiry.

On Monday, it was brought to light that Red Bull Racing’s team boss, Christian Horner, is currently under internal investigation for alleged misconduct towards a fellow team member. This revelation follows closely after the shocking news that Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time Formula 1 Champion, will be leaving Mercedes in 2025 to join Ferrari. Horner has been at the helm of Red Bull Racing since its inception in 2005, when Dietrich Mateschitz, the late founder of Red Bull, acquired the Jaguar F1 operation. During Horner’s tenure, Red Bull achieved remarkable success, securing six F1 Constructors’ Titles and seven Drivers’ Crowns between 2010 and 2023, thanks to the outstanding performances of Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen. Horner has vehemently denied the allegations, and his future with the team remains uncertain until the findings of the external investigation, entrusted to a barrister by Red Bull, are unveiled. Helmut Marko, on the other hand, declined to comment on the matter, stating, “I have no comment to make.” This development couldn’t have come at a worse time for Red Bull, as they prepare to defend their F1 Title in 2024. The unveiling of their RB20, the car for the upcoming season, is scheduled for February 15.
