Max Verstappen, from Red Bull Racing, will be competing in the Formula 1 World Championship at the Miami Grand Prix in Florida, USA, on May 4, 2024. Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko announced that the team will introduce improvements to their 2024 Formula 1 car in Imola this weekend, and he has high expectations for these upgrades. During the previous race in Miami, Verstappen faced some challenges with the balance of his RB20 car. Despite this, he managed to win the Sprint race and was on course to win the main race as well, until a Safety Car intervention allowed Lando Norris to clinch the victory. Verstappen had suffered floor damage earlier in the race, but Marko suggested that this was not the main reason for his performance deficit. He acknowledged that McLaren had a faster car. Marko also believes that Norris benefited from the Safety Car period, as overtaking in Miami is difficult. Verstappen remains positive and is happy that Norris was the only one to defeat him. However, Marko warned that Norris may now pose a greater threat to Verstappen on track, as the pressure to win no longer exists for him. Despite McLaren’s recent improvements, Marko is not worried and has confidence in Red Bull’s upcoming upgrades. He emphasized the need for the team to focus on their performance in the sport.
