Bezzecchi Dominates Warm-Up in Austin, Leaving Márquez and Rivals in the Dust!

In a thrilling showdown at the Austin circuit, Marco Bezzecchi has sent shockwaves through the MotoGP paddock by leading the warm-up session ahead of the race. With the temperature soaring and grip challenging, the Italian rider showcased his prowess, clocking in an impressive time that edged out legendary competitor Marc Márquez by a razor-thin margin of just under a tenth of a second. This performance comes on the heels of Bezzecchi’s earlier tumble during the sprint race, where he was holding a strong second position before the mishap.

Márquez, looking to rebound after a controversial incident that knocked Fabio Di Giannantonio out of the sprint, was seen meticulously practicing the long lap penalty he will face during the main event. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and Márquez is clearly eager to reclaim his dominance on the track.

Not to be overshadowed, Di Giannantonio finished the warm-up in third place, a mere four-tenths behind the front runners and just three-tenths adrift of Márquez. His performance signals that he’s ready to bounce back from his earlier misfortunes. Meanwhile, Enea Bastianini, who initially finished fourth in the sprint but was later promoted to third due to Pedro Acosta’s penalty for tire pressure violations, continued to demonstrate his speed, securing fourth place in the warm-up.

The drama didn’t stop there, as Jack Miller also faced a crash during the morning session, adding to the list of riders struggling with grip issues. The fifth spot was claimed by Toprak Razgatlioglu, marking his most competitive performance yet since joining MotoGP, while Fermín Aldeguer, despite nursing an injured left leg, managed to finish sixth.

World Champion Pecco Bagnaia, who had taken second in the sprint, ended up seventh in the warm-up, six-tenths off the pace, while Luca Marini, the highest-placed Honda rider, secured eighth. Jorge Martín, who made headlines for his stunning victory and subsequent crash during the celebratory wheelie, finished just behind Marini, illustrating the unpredictable nature of the sport.

Rounding out the top ten was Ai Ogura, just ahead of Alex Márquez, who missed the cut by a heart-wrenching 18 thousandths of a second. As the tension builds ahead of the main event, all eyes will be on Bezzecchi—does he have what it takes to convert his warm-up success into a victory today? The Austin GP promises to be nothing short of electrifying!
