Magnussen plans to explore his options.

This is the second occasion that Haas has released Magnussen, the initial instance being at the conclusion of the 202o Formula 1 season when both he and former teammate Romain Grosjean stepped aside to make room for Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.

At the commencement of the 2022 Formula 1 season, Haas severed ties with Mazepin and his sponsor Uralkali due to the Russian Ukrainian conflict. Consequently, Magnussen was summoned back to the team after spending a year on the sidelines participating in sportscar racing.

However, it appears that this time the Danish driver’s tenure in the premier motorsport category has come to an end, unless he secures one of the remaining seats that are potentially available. One possibility is with VCARB, while another option exists at Sauber. Alpine also has an opening following Esteban Ocon’s departure, but it is likely that their junior driver Jack Doohan will be selected instead.

During the Belgian Grand Prix FIA-hosted press conference, Magnussen addressed his future and plans when questioned by the media.

He stated, “In that scenario, I believe all possibilities are open. Thus, it is challenging to… I will assess the available options and make a decision when the time comes.

“Currently, I am competing in Formula 1, and there are still a few vacancies for next year that I would like to monitor before making any further considerations,” he concluded.

With Magnussen’s departure and teammate Nico Hulkenberg already bound for Audi-Sauber, Haas will feature a new driver lineup for the 2025 Formula 1 season.

Esteban Ocon will be joining from Alpine, while Ferrari junior driver Oliver Bearman has been secured for the other seat after showcasing his talent during his F1 debut earlier this year at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Bearman replaced Carlos Sainz, who underwent surgery for appendicitis.
