In the most recent edition of the NAF Winter Test, an annual test conducted in Norway by the automobile federation of that country, focused on the range of 100% electric cars, the Lucid Air Grand Touring shone the brightest: with just one battery charge, the model from the American brand, founded in 2007, managed to cover no less than 520 km. The second place, the new Mercedes CLA, managed to complete “only” 421 km, with the following positions in the Top 5 of a journey that featured 24 electric cars in competition, the Audi A6 e-tron (402 km), the Kia EV4 (390 km), and the BMW iX (388 km).

If this is already a program traditionally carried out under (very) negative temperatures, this year recorded the lowest ever, with thermometers reaching as low as -31º C. The route was completed without any stops for charging and connected Oslo to the mountainous region of the country, on a journey that included passages through all types of routes, from urban areas to highways.

“We are proud to participate in the NAF Winter Test for the first time. And it is fair to say that our Lucid Air Grand Touring is the champion of range even under the extreme winter weather conditions we encountered in Norway,” said Lawrence Hamilton, director of Lucid Motors in Europe. He added: “This test provides us with very important information about the real performance of electric cars, and demonstrates the remarkable progress we have made in the fields of efficiency and innovation.”

It is important to remember that, in the summer of 2025, the Lucid Air Grand Touring had already achieved the range record of the NAF Summer Test, with 828.6 km, a record that surpassed the previous maximum of 672 km from 2023. And, the brand based in Newark, California, announces that this model also holds the Guinness World Record for the “Longest journey completed by an electric vehicle on a single battery charge”: 1205 km.  Lucid Motors, for the Air Grand Touring (in this version, the battery has a nominal capacity of 117 kWh, and 112 kWh usable), announces a range of 960 km, and an average consumption of 13.5 kWh/100 km, in the combined WLTP cycle.
