Lucas Moraes won the final stage of the 2025 Dakar this Friday. It was just over 60km of timed sections to close the event, where Yazeed Al Rajhi claimed the overall title.
The Brazilian driver for Toyota clocked 54m14s, beating Nasser Al-Attiyah (The Dacia Sandriders) by 1m33s, followed by Henk Lategan (Toyota). The South African faced the daunting task of recovering more than six minutes from Al Rajhi (Overdrive Racing/Toyota) to win the Dakar but fell short, despite the Saudi finishing only 13th.
The top five for this stage was completed by Mattias Ekström (Ford M-Sport) and the surprising Daniel Schröder (PS Laser Racing/Volkswagen), who ended his participation with a personal-best result.
In the final overall standings, Al Rajhi secured victory in the Dakar with a 3m57s lead over Lategan, with Ekström taking third place. Al-Attiyah finished fourth, and Mitchell Guthrie (Ford M-Sport) secured fifth, marking a dream debut for Ford M-Sport’s project: apart from Toyota, it was the only brand with two cars in the top five.
