Lucas Auer Dominates Oschersleben, Secures 10th DTM Victory in Thrilling Pole-to-Flag Triumph

Lucas Auer Dominates the Track in Germany, Secures Victory from Pole Position!

Witness the thrilling spectacle as Lucas Auer kicks off the 2025 season in style, clinching a remarkable victory in Germany. The Austrian racing sensation, representing Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf, showcased his prowess by starting the first championship race from the coveted pole position and maintaining an iron grip on the race throughout.

After 40 heart-pounding laps at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, Auer roared across the finish line in his Mercedes-AMG GT3, notching up his 10th DTM triumph in spectacular fashion. Reflecting on his stellar performance, an elated Auer expressed, “A fantastic start to the new season. The start of the race went brilliantly, but later I lost my entire lead while lapping other cars. I’m all the more pleased that the guys in the pits delivered a really strong performance during the tire change.”

In a fiercely contested battle behind him, Jordan Pepper of TGI Team Lamborghini by GRT clinched the second spot, leaving spectators in awe with his outstanding performance on the challenging Börde circuit. Meanwhile, Maro Engel from Mercedes-AMG Team Winward Racing strategically maneuvered his way to third place, adding another feather to the cap of the renowned team.

Auer, who started from pole position, unleashed his full potential on Saturday afternoon, leaving the crowd at the edge of their seats with his lightning-quick start. The 30-year-old racing prodigy surged ahead of the competition, building a commanding lead of over four seconds. Trailing behind were the skilled Jordan Pepper and Mercedes-AMG driver Jules Gounon, who put on a remarkable display by overtaking the formidable Porsche works driver Thomas Preining.

The race took a dramatic turn after the first mandatory pit stops, with Auer encountering challenges while navigating past slower cars on new and cold tires. However, the real showdown unfolded on lap 18, as Auer, Pepper, and Preining all made a pit stop for a tire change simultaneously. Despite a slightly longer pit stop, Auer rejoined the track just ahead of his rivals, showcasing nerves of steel as he extended his lead to almost two seconds.

Maintaining his composure and skillful precision, Auer held onto his lead till the checkered flag, securing his first DTM victory in over two and a half years. Fellow driver Maro Engel once again displayed his tactical acumen, executing a strategic tire change late in the race to surge ahead of Preining and claim the third spot on the podium.

The thrilling racing action didn’t stop there, with Ferrari driver Jack Aitken of Emil Frey Racing securing a commendable sixth place, while Ayhancan Güven of Manthey EMA raced to a respectable seventh place in the second 911. The intense competition also saw Marco Wittmann clinching eighth place as the top-performing BMW driver, showcasing his skills for Schubert Motorsport.

As the dust settled on the track, reigning DTM champion Mirko Bortolotti showcased his tenacity by climbing up three positions to finish ninth in the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 of Abt Sportsline. Rounding off the top ten was Luca Engstler of TGI Team Lamborghini by GRT, cementing his status as a force to be reckoned with.

Stay tuned for more adrenaline-pumping race updates and electrifying victories as the DTM season unfolds with unmatched intensity and excitement!
