Long Beach Grand Prix Smashes Attendance Records!

In a jaw-dropping turn of events, the 50th anniversary Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach has shattered all previous attendance records, establishing itself as the largest event since the merger of Champ Car and IndyCar back in 2008. Surpassing the former record of 194,000 fans set in 2024, the 2025 edition boasted an impressive surge in attendance, with numbers soaring past the 200,000 mark.

The Grand Prix Association of Long Beach revealed that the recent event witnessed Porsche Penske Motorsport clinching its third consecutive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship victory on Saturday, while Andretti Global’s rising star Kyle Kirkwood dominated the track on Sunday, securing his first IndyCar Series win of the year in spectacular fashion.

Jim Michaelian, the president of GPALB, expressed his elation over the resounding success of the Acura Grand Prix weekend, stating, “We are delighted with how the entire Acura Grand Prix weekend turned out.” He commended the seamless execution of the complex schedule of events, which included special 50th-anniversary commemorations and a heartfelt tribute to the First Responders of the January Southern California wildfires.

Acknowledging the collective efforts of the Grand Prix team, volunteers, partners, and the City of Long Beach staff, Michaelian praised the flawless coordination that made the event a roaring triumph. Looking ahead, he teased the prospect of another thrilling weekend in store for racing enthusiasts, in collaboration with the new owners, Penske Entertainment, scheduled for April 17-19, 2026.

The Long Beach Grand Prix has unequivocally cemented its status as a monumental sporting extravaganza, breaking barriers and setting new standards for motorsport entertainment. With adrenaline-pumping races, record-breaking attendance, and a promise of even more excitement on the horizon, the legacy of the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach continues to reign supreme in the world of motorsports.
