Lola Motorsports has announced that it will be participating in the FIA World Formula E Championship until at least 2030. This renowned British motorsport brand joined forces with ABT in March for Season 11, marking its return to top-level racing after its revitalization two years ago in collaboration with Yamaha. Even before the project began, Lola had firmly committed to staying involved during the GEN4 era. This makes Lola the fourth manufacturer, following Nissan, Jaguar, and Porsche, to make such a commitment.
Lola’s decision to commit to Formula E until 2030 comes as no surprise. Mark Preston, Lola’s Motorsport Director, has been actively involved with the ABT Cupra team since the initial announcement. He has been seen at races and played a key role in the partnership. Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds expressed his satisfaction with Lola’s return to high-level motorsport for Season 11 and its commitment to the GEN4 era. He sees this as a testament to Formula E’s ability to attract renowned names in motorsport and their shared ambition to grow the championship. Dodds expressed his privilege to have Lola on the Formula E grid and looks forward to their debut on the track next year.
