Liam Lawson: The Rising Star Who Refuses to Ponder a Red Bull Comeback!

In a stunning revelation, Liam Lawson has boldly stated that a return to Red Bull Racing is far from his mind as he gears up for the 2025 Formula 1 season. After a rollercoaster start to his F1 career, Lawson was thrust into the spotlight when he replaced Sergio Perez alongside the formidable Max Verstappen. However, his initial two races were nothing short of disastrous, prompting a swift reshuffle that saw him swap seats with Yuki Tsunoda before the Japanese Grand Prix.

Despite the turbulence, Lawson has managed to rebound and secure his spot on the grid for the 2026 season, continuing with the Scuderia AlphaTauri team alongside rookie sensation Arvid Lindblad. Meanwhile, his former teammate Isack Hadjar will now partner with Verstappen at Red Bull, leaving Lawson to focus on his own ambitions without the looming shadow of a Red Bull return.

When asked about the possibility of reclaiming his seat at Red Bull, Lawson responded candidly: “It’s not, honestly, something I’ve really thought about this year, especially with how when I came back, it was a very tricky few races.” His focus has shifted towards reacquainting himself with the car and overcoming the challenges he faced upon his return. “I missed the first part of the pre-season with the development of where the car was going. We actually made some changes to the car to make it a bit more comfortable for me during the season. So it’s honestly not something I’ve really thought about.”

Lawson’s resilience has been a key factor in his resurgence, and he remains determined to build on his experiences. As he prepares for a new technical era in F1, he addressed concerns about his experience giving him an edge over his new teammate. “Yes, but at the same time, it is going to be a new car for me, too,” he stated. “It is great to have a year of experience, and I think I learned a lot from this year, but the main thing for me is just being as ready as possible for next year. Taking all of the learnings from this year will be very important next year.”

While the technical rules are set to undergo significant changes, Lawson is ready to embrace the unknown, acknowledging that even with a year under his belt, the learning curve in F1 is steep. “I expect the team to probably lean on me a little bit, but at the same time, I’ve done one season. And although you don’t learn a huge amount in one season of F1, what I hope is that there will be a lot of years to learn as well.”

As the 2026 season approaches, Lawson’s focus is crystal clear—he is committed to honing his skills and pushing the limits of performance. With a fierce determination and an unwavering ambition, the New Zealand driver is ready to make his mark in Formula 1, and for now, the Red Bull seat he once occupied is not on his radar.

Stay tuned as Lawson continues to carve his path in the high-octane world of motorsport!
