Permane emphasized, “What I would like from him is to get to the stage where we want to keep him here. I want him to deliver so that we think: ‘Wow, we’ve got to hang on to this guy; he’s really good.’”

However, the inconsistency is troubling. “Sometimes, inexplicably, he will go out in Q1, and he doesn’t understand it,” Permane lamented, pointing out the need for Lawson to eliminate the poor, unexplained results that occasionally plague his performances.
