A disastrous weekend in Montreal for Racing Bulls as they struggle to make an impact on the track

The Racing Bulls team from Faenza had a weekend to forget in Montreal, with a disappointing 12th place for Hadjar and Lawson forced to retire from the race. The team faced challenges even before the race began, with both drivers receiving penalties. Isack Hadjar had to start three positions back due to impeding Sainz during qualifying, while Liam Lawson had to start from the pit lane for a power unit replacement.

Unfortunately, the troubles continued for Lawson as he was eventually called back to the pits to retire from the race. Despite changing the power unit, cooling issues forced him out. The team expressed regret as the car showed promising pace throughout the weekend. Lawson vowed to work on himself and the car’s speed for the upcoming races.

Hadjar also faced a tough race, starting 16th on the grid and finishing 12th, breaking his streak of point-scoring finishes since Imola. He struggled with tire graining early on, losing positions after a delayed pit stop. Stuck in a DRS train for the remainder of the race, he lacked pace towards the end, allowing other cars to overtake.

“It was a challenging Sunday here in Montreal,” said Hadjar. “We had some car issues from the beginning of the weekend, so we will review everything with the team and come back stronger for the next race in Austria in two weeks.”

The Racing Bulls team will need to regroup and address their challenges to come back stronger in the upcoming races after a disappointing showing in Montreal.
