Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton has been at the center of controversy following claims that he is “expired” and “worn out,” sparking a strong reaction from Ferrari.

Rumors swirled as Hamilton announced his move to Ferrari for the 2025 F1 season, with critics quick to pounce on the opportunity to question his abilities behind the wheel. Despite a challenging start to the season for Ferrari, team principal Fred Vasseur has fiercely defended Hamilton against these claims.

Hamilton currently sits in ninth place in the championship after scoring just nine points in the first two Grands Prix of the season. The Brit faced difficulties in adapting to the wet weather conditions in Australia and suffered disqualification alongside teammate Charles Leclerc at the Chinese Grand Prix.

Critics have suggested that Hamilton’s age may hinder his performance in a new team environment, but Vasseur vehemently refuted these notions. In an interview, Vasseur dismissed claims of Hamilton being “worn out” or “expired,” citing the champion’s impressive performance last year when he climbed from sixteenth to fourth place by overtaking his teammate.

Despite the rocky start to the 2025 season for both Hamilton and Ferrari, the commitment displayed by both parties indicates a promising future working relationship. While the results may not be immediate, the dedication to growth and success bodes well for what lies ahead in the upcoming races.
