Lewis Hamilton’s Shocking Verdict on Ferrari’s Upgrades

Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton has delivered a shocking assessment of Ferrari’s latest upgrades, suggesting that the improvements may not have made a significant impact on the team’s performance. The seven-time world champion expressed his concerns after a lackluster performance during the opening day of the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring.

Despite Ferrari introducing a new floor upgrade for the SF-25, Hamilton found himself struggling to keep up with the competition, finishing a disappointing 10th on the timesheets and nearly a full second behind the leaders. The Mercedes driver’s day was further marred by a gearbox issue during the first practice session, which prompted a hurried gearbox change by his team.

Hamilton admitted, “A huge amount of work went on to bring the floor, but as you can see, it has not necessarily changed our competitiveness.” He expressed frustration at the significant performance gap, emphasizing the need to analyze and improve the car’s pace to remain competitive in the tight field of the top 10 drivers.

The British driver commended his team for their efforts in addressing the gearbox problem swiftly, allowing him to participate in the second practice session. However, Hamilton acknowledged that both he and Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc were far from the desired pace, with Leclerc trailing by six-tenths and Hamilton nearly a full second behind the leader.

Despite the challenges faced during the opening day of the Austrian Grand Prix, Hamilton remains optimistic about making the necessary adjustments to close the performance gap. He highlighted the team’s continuous efforts to refine the car’s setup and expressed confidence in their ability to make improvements before the next race.

The Mercedes driver’s candid assessment of Ferrari’s upgrades has raised eyebrows in the F1 community, sparking speculation about the Italian team’s competitiveness in the upcoming races. As the battle for supremacy in the championship heats up, all eyes will be on Ferrari to see if they can overcome the setbacks and emerge as a true contender on the track.
