Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Dream: Is It Already Crumbling?

In a shocking revelation, former Formula 1 driver Robert Doornbos has cast serious doubts on Lewis Hamilton’s partnership with his Ferrari race engineer, Riccardo Adami. Accusations of a complete lack of “chemistry” between the two are raising eyebrows and stirring controversy in the motorsport world. Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, made waves when he joined Ferrari ahead of the 2025 season, leaving behind a storied 12-year legacy at Mercedes. But has the transition turned into a nightmare?

Despite a triumphant sprint race victory in China, Hamilton’s journey with Ferrari has been turbulent. As the final four races of the season approach, the racing legend finds himself languishing in sixth place in the drivers’ standings, with a mere 146 points. His teammate, Charles Leclerc, is comfortably ahead in fifth with 210 points, leaving fans and analysts questioning Hamilton’s performance and adaptability.

During a candid appearance on The Pit Talk Podcast, Doornbos didn’t hold back, suggesting that the disconnect between Hamilton and Adami could be a significant hurdle in their quest for success. “I think because there is just no chemistry between the engineer and the driver,” he claimed. According to Doornbos, the communication—or lack thereof—between Hamilton and Adami is alarming. “It just doesn’t feel like they’re switched on to each other,” he added, highlighting a critical gap that could spell disaster for their championship aspirations.

The tension reached a boiling point during the Mexico Grand Prix, where Hamilton was slapped with a 10-second penalty for “leaving the track and gaining a lasting advantage” in a fierce battle against Red Bull’s Max Verstappen. Doornbos pointed out that this incident showcased the apparent disconnect: “It’s Ricky saying, ‘We’ve got a 10-second [penalty] because of this and this situation.’ Lewis said, ‘Yeah, but it was very difficult to stay on.’ We know Lewis. I don’t think they’re really on it.”

The stakes couldn’t be higher as Hamilton aims to reclaim his place at the pinnacle of Formula 1. As Doornbos astutely noted, “If you want to be fighting for wins, championships, and podiums, you have to take every opportunity you can to maximize it.” With the pressure mounting and the gap between Hamilton and his competitors widening, one must wonder: Is this partnership doomed from the start?

As the racing world watches closely, the burning question remains—can Hamilton and Adami bridge the gap and turn their fortunes around, or is this a recipe for disaster? Only time will tell, but the clock is ticking, and every moment counts as they head into the season’s final stretch.
