Lewis Hamilton’s shocking comparison between his time at Mercedes and current struggles with Ferrari has sent shockwaves through the F1 world. The seven-time world champion confessed that his qualifying performances this year are “worse” than in his final season with the Silver Arrows.

Hamilton’s move to Ferrari for the F1 2025 championship was highly anticipated, but it seems to have hit a roadblock. Striking similarities to his challenging period at Mercedes have emerged, particularly in qualifying battles. Last year, he suffered a rare defeat to George Russell in qualifying, ending a remarkable streak of dominance.

Currently, Hamilton is trailing behind his Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc, in Grand Prix qualifying sessions. The Briton expressed his frustrations, admitting, “I’m just not doing a good enough job on my side so I’ve just got to keep improving.”

Despite his struggles, Hamilton remains determined to bounce back and improve his performance. He reflected on the differences between the cars but acknowledged that his qualifying results this year feel even worse than last year. The seasoned driver is focused on making progress and regaining his competitive edge.

Former F1 driver Karun Chandhok highlighted Hamilton’s despondency after the Bahrain qualifying, drawing parallels to his final season with Mercedes. The comparison between his current mindset and struggles at Mercedes is concerning for fans and experts alike.

Hamilton’s journey with Ferrari has been met with challenges, but he remains optimistic about his prospects. As he navigates through this turbulent period, all eyes are on the legendary driver to see if he can overcome this setback and return to the forefront of F1 contention.
