Lewis Hamilton’s Nightmare at Austrian Grand Prix Shocks Fans as Ferrari Faces Double Trouble

Lewis Hamilton’s hopes for a successful outing at the Austrian Grand Prix took a drastic turn as unexpected conditions struck, leaving the Mercedes star struggling during the first practice session. The session saw George Russell of Mercedes setting the fastest time, while Ferrari encountered a team-wide issue, with Hamilton finishing in a disappointing P9.

The setback for Ferrari continued as both Hamilton and Charles Leclerc faced challenges during the session. Mechanics were seen working frantically on Hamilton’s car due to a gearbox issue, while Leclerc’s car, driven by Ferrari Academy Driver Dino Beganovic, had its floor off, causing them to miss out on valuable track time.

As the rain added to the chaos on the track, Hamilton’s struggles persisted, highlighting the challenges faced by the team in Austria. With Ferrari introducing a new floor in hopes of improving their performance, the issues faced during the practice session only added to the pressure on team principal Fred Vasseur and the driver duo.

The session remained incident-free overall, with Fernando Alonso experiencing a minor spin but managing to recover swiftly. Meanwhile, the grid saw the debut of F2 star Alex Dunne, who impressed by finishing just behind championship leader Oscar Piastri in P4, marking a significant moment for Irish motorsport.

Reigning champion Max Verstappen, while receiving massive support from fans, could only manage the second-fastest time behind Russell, indicating a fierce competition ahead. The practice session results set the stage for an intense weekend of racing, with fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming sessions to see how the teams will perform.

As the Austrian Grand Prix unfolds, all eyes will be on Hamilton and Ferrari to see if they can overcome their challenges and deliver a strong performance in the races to come. The unexpected twists and turns of the practice session have set the tone for a thrilling weekend of Formula 1 action at the Red Bull Ring.
