Lewis Hamilton’s First Season with Ferrari: A Rollercoaster Ride of Disappointment and Struggle!

In a shocking turn of events, Lewis Hamilton’s debut season with the legendary Ferrari team has been labeled “painful to watch” by former Alpine executive director Marcin Budkowski. As fans and pundits alike digest the stunning ups and downs of Hamilton’s 2025 campaign, it’s clear that this year has been a tumultuous experience for the seven-time world champion.

The excitement surrounding Hamilton’s blockbuster move to Ferrari at the start of the season reached fever pitch, with images of the 41-year-old racing in Ferrari red lighting up social media. However, expectations quickly turned into concern as Hamilton faced significant hurdles in adapting to a team culture that was worlds apart from his long tenure at Mercedes. The challenge was even more pronounced given that this was his first time behind the wheel of a non-Mercedes-powered F1 car.

While Hamilton initially surprised everyone with a stunning Sprint pole and victory in China, which seemed to signal a bright future, the reality soon set in. His performances began to wane, revealing a stark contrast to teammate Charles Leclerc, who was able to secure multiple podium finishes in the midst of a challenging SF-25. The gap in points between the two Ferrari drivers expanded, leaving Hamilton’s fans in disbelief.

The most alarming aspect of Hamilton’s season has undoubtedly been his shocking exit from qualifying in the final rounds. Three consecutive Q1 exits left fans, regardless of their allegiance, feeling the sting of disappointment. Budkowski, reflecting on Hamilton’s struggles, noted that while it was expected for a driver to face challenges when switching teams, Hamilton’s decline was still surprising. He stated, “You know, it’s almost like the first part of the season was better than the second part.”

The pressure is now mounting on Ferrari to master the new power unit regulations, which are crucial for Hamilton’s comeback in the upcoming season. As the F1 world watches with bated breath, the question lingers: can the Scuderia provide the platform Hamilton needs to reclaim his former glory?

Budkowski’s remarks encapsulate the sentiment of many fans: “For every F1 fan, whether you’re a fan of Lewis or not, [his struggles] were very painful to watch.” Hamilton, a titan of the sport, is now at a crossroads, and the coming year will be pivotal in determining whether he can rise from the ashes or continue to grapple with the challenges that have marred his historic career. The stakes have never been higher for both Hamilton and Ferrari as they prepare for what promises to be a make-or-break season ahead!
