Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Nightmare Deepens: Brutal Retirement Sparks Outrage in Sao Paulo GP

Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Dream Turns into a Nightmare in Brazil

In a shocking turn of events at the 2025 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton, one of the most iconic figures in Formula 1 history, has openly declared that he is “living in a nightmare” following a disastrous race that saw him retire on Lap 37. This latest setback highlights the stark contrast between the dreams Hamilton harbored when joining Scuderia Ferrari and the grim reality of his performance this season.

The Brazilian race became a brutal battleground for Hamilton, who faced a series of unfortunate incidents that left his car battered and his spirit visibly crushed. The chaos began on the very first lap when Hamilton collided with teammate Carlos Sainz, an incident swiftly followed by a clash with Franco Colapinto. The damage was severe: a broken front wing and significant floor damage, compounded by a five-second penalty, transformed what could have been a hopeful race into yet another harrowing experience for the Scuderia.

Ferrari’s woes were not limited to Hamilton alone; Charles Leclerc also faced an early exit when he was taken out by Oscar Piastri’s miscalculated maneuver, resulting in a double retirement for the team before the halfway mark. Amidst the turmoil, Lando Norris of McLaren seized the opportunity to lead the race from start to finish, showcasing a dominant performance that left Ferrari’s struggles in sharp relief.

Hamilton, reflecting on this tumultuous race, did not sugarcoat his feelings. Speaking candidly to Sky Sports F1 as he climbed out of his damaged vehicle, he said, “It’s a nightmare. I’ve been living it for a while. The flip between the dream of driving for this amazing team and then the nightmare of the results that we’ve had. The ups and downs. It’s challenging.”

Despite the glaring disappointments, Hamilton remains steadfast in his commitment to the team. “Tomorrow I’ll get back up. I’ll keep training. I’ll keep working with the team,” he vowed, determined to turn the tide in his favor. The British driver, currently languishing in sixth place in the championship standings, has yet to secure a podium finish in his maiden season with Ferrari—a far cry from the glory he envisioned when he departed Mercedes.

However, not all hope is lost. Hamilton, displaying resilience amidst adversity, pointed out the slivers of potential within the chaos. “It would be wrong to say there are no positives,” he asserted, referencing Leclerc’s impressive qualifying performance that hinted at the car’s capabilities. “We are just really having to fight through those hardships at the moment. I truly still believe in this team and what we can achieve together.”

As the Ferrari team grapples with the grim repercussions of the Sao Paulo race, the vision of success seems clouded by inconsistency and frustration. The team’s position in the constructors’ standings continues to dwindle as they fall further behind formidable rivals like Mercedes and Red Bull. With just three races left in the season, Hamilton’s focus now shifts to damage control and proving that, even in the depths of despair, he possesses the tenacity to claw his way back to the top.

The question remains: Can Hamilton turn his nightmare into a triumphant comeback, or will this season be a haunting reminder of unfulfilled potential? Only time will tell as the legendary driver prepares for the next race, ready to confront whatever challenges lie ahead.
