Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari F1 Dream Shattered: Former Team Boss Claims Passion Alone Won’t Cut It
Former Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto has cast doubt on Lewis Hamilton’s ability to find success at Ferrari solely based on his passion for the team. Binotto, who led Ferrari until 2022, has since moved on to key roles at Sauber but remains a respected voice in the F1 world. In an interview with Corriere della Sera, Binotto expressed skepticism about Hamilton’s potential at Ferrari, stating, “He’s brought great enthusiasm, passion, a lot of experience. But that’s not necessarily enough.”
Hamilton’s performance in his first three races with Ferrari has left much to be desired, with the champion struggling to secure positions higher than P7 in full grand prix races. Despite a sprint race win, Hamilton’s overall results have been lackluster, with a disqualification in China and low points finishes in Australia and Japan leaving him 47 points behind championship leader Lando Norris.
As Hamilton gears up for the Bahrain Grand Prix, where he will start in P9 compared to his teammate Charles Leclerc’s P2 position, the pressure is mounting for the veteran driver to turn his fortunes around. Hamilton, however, remains determined and has urged fans to lower their expectations for his debut season with Ferrari.
