Lewis Hamilton’s hopes shattered as he struggles to find answers after a disappointing P9 finish in Bahrain qualifying. The seven-time world champion faced a tough challenge at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix, managing only a ninth-place start on the grid with his upgraded Ferrari, a significant setback compared to his teammate, Charles Leclerc, who secured a strong P3.

Despite Ferrari introducing a substantial upgrade package for the Bahrain race, Hamilton faltered in extracting the desired performance from his car, trailing a full second behind pole-sitter Oscar Piastri from McLaren. Expressing his frustration and self-criticism, Hamilton admitted, “I’m just not doing a good enough job on my side, so I just gotta keep improving it.”

The qualifying session was marred by a deleted lap due to track limits, further dampening Hamilton’s spirits. While acknowledging the setback, he maintained, “It didn’t help, but it wasn’t the worst-case scenario.” Hamilton’s struggles were evident as his teammate Leclerc outperformed him, qualifying third on the grid.

Ferrari’s recent upgrade aimed to boost their performance against top contenders like Mercedes, McLaren, and Red Bull. Despite showing some progress during Friday’s practice sessions, Hamilton’s uncertainty about his future performance raises concerns. When pressed about areas of improvement, Hamilton candidly confessed, “I really don’t know… I really don’t know. I don’t have a lot of answers for you guys.”

The bewildered tone in Hamilton’s statement reflects the challenges he faces in maximizing the potential of his SF-25. With the race day approaching, Hamilton remains hopeful of a top-five finish but acknowledges the uphill battle ahead. As he grapples with his performance struggles, the Formula 1 icon is left searching for elusive answers to reclaim his competitive edge on the track.
