40-year-old Formula 1 sensation, Lewis Hamilton, has expressed his exhilaration about joining Ferrari, likening the experience to a refreshing return to his youth. Ahead of the Australian GP 2025, Hamilton’s transition from McLaren to the legendary Ferrari team is reminiscent of his rookie season in the green paddocks back in 2007.

Hamilton’s unprecedented shift to the Maranello team has been the hot topic in the world of Formula 1 for the past year. The buzz is escalating as fans worldwide eagerly wait to witness Hamilton’s inaugural competitive sessions with the sport’s most iconic team.

Hamilton will be partnered with the formidable Charles Leclerc, setting the stage for one of the most exciting driver duos in the history of the sport. This dynamic pairing promises an intense showdown as the two of the finest contemporary racers go head-to-head.

Despite a challenging testing phase marked by a Day 3 reliability malfunction, which prevented a long-run simulation, Hamilton’s move could serve as a revitalising catalyst for the seven-time world champion. The switch could galvanize the 105-time Grand Prix victor in his quest for an eighth world title, potentially surpassing the record held by Michael Schumacher.

The question on everyone’s mind is, how does Hamilton feel about joining Ferrari? To this, he made an unexpected admission – his move to Ferrari has rekindled the thrill of his early days in the sport. He expressed his feelings to the media, including Total-Motorsport.com, with a heartfelt confession.

“I feel incredibly lucky,” he shared, referring to his move to Ferrari. “I have had an extraordinary career in Formula 1. The experience of starting with McLaren in 2007 was unforgettable; and then beginning anew with Mercedes was incredibly special. This feels very reminiscent of my first year.”

Hamilton described his long-standing admiration for Ferrari, saying, “Over the years, I’ve often found myself gazing at the red garage, and now I’m actually a part of it. It’s a fantastic feeling.”

Despite the uncertainty of the upcoming season and the close competition, Hamilton is eager to get started, stating, “I’ve been just itching to get going. I guess it’s been a long time coming.”

Hamilton, known for his active social media presence and his efforts to raise awareness on humanitarian issues to his 39 million followers, has surprisingly kept a low profile since his move. Engrossed in settling into a new country, learning a new language, and embarking on his journey with Ferrari, he has kept a distance from the fanfare surrounding his move.

“I don’t really read the news,” Hamilton confessed at the Albert Park Circuit. “I go for long periods of time without social media, so I’m not bombarded with it. I live in my own little bubble, really. I’ve been giving everything to my training, pushing my mind and body further than I have before, trying to see if I can squeeze more out of this.”

Hamilton’s shift to Ferrari marks a new chapter in his illustrious career. As he gears up for the Australian GP 2025, his journey with the legendary team is eagerly anticipated by fans and rivals alike.
