Lewis Hamilton Breaks Silence on Ferrari’s Bold Move Towards F1 2026: “I Was Pushing for It!”

In a stunning revelation that has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, Lewis Hamilton has candidly addressed Ferrari’s unexpected pivot away from the troubled SF-25, the team’s 2025 car that failed to clinch a single Grand Prix victory. The legendary driver, who has recently joined forces with the iconic Scuderia Ferrari, emphasized that while the team’s struggles were more pronounced than anticipated, he fully supports their decision to focus on the future.

Ferrari made the bold choice to halt development on their 2025 car back in April, a move that raised eyebrows given their disappointing performance throughout the season. With only seven podium finishes to their name, all courtesy of Charles Leclerc, and Hamilton’s solitary victory coming from the China Sprint, the team’s season was nothing short of a disaster. “Did I know we’d end up here at the end of the year? No. We anticipated it, but it felt worse, naturally,” Hamilton admitted, reflecting on the tumultuous campaign.

However, Hamilton, who has long been known for his fierce competitiveness and strategic mindset, revealed that he was the one advocating for Ferrari to shift gears towards the upcoming 2026 season. “I was the one pushing for it. We can’t fall behind the others in terms of development for the new car. It’s a steep learning curve for all of us, and I supported it 100 percent,” he asserted. His confidence in the team’s strategy is unwavering, particularly given their position in the championship race. “We weren’t fighting for a championship anyway,” he noted.

Despite the turmoil, Hamilton insists that he was not psychologically affected by the early cessation of the SF-25’s development. “I can’t answer for the rest of the team, but in my experience, everyone’s stayed really positive. I’ve not seen a psychological impact,” he stated, showcasing his resilience and commitment to pushing forward.

As the countdown to F1 2026 intensifies, the stakes are higher than ever. The upcoming season promises to be a game-changer with new chassis and engine regulations on the horizon. The first test will take place behind closed doors at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from January 26 to 30, followed by public tests in Bahrain on February 11-13 and 18-20.

Hamilton is already gearing up for the new season, revealing that his preparations for 2026 are well underway. “It already really starts next week. We’ve been working in the background on 2026 for several months. I’ll be in the simulator working on the next car, and we have the post-season test on next season’s tires,” he disclosed. With the shortest break ever, Hamilton is determined not to waste any time in his quest for success.

As fans eagerly await the next chapter in Ferrari’s storied history, Hamilton and Leclerc are poised to lead the charge into a new era of Formula 1. Stay tuned for more explosive updates as the excitement builds towards what promises to be an unforgettable 2026 season!
