Lewis Hamilton praised Max Verstappen’s remarkable performances in Formula 1 and mentioned that the Dutch driver has been receiving incredible support from his fans.

Hamilton and Verstappen (images via IMAGO) achieved their first podium finishes of the season, with Verstappen securing a third place behind [driver’s name]. Verstappen emerged victorious in his seventh race of the season, earning 25 valuable points.

During the press conference, Hamilton was asked about his appreciation for Verstappen’s accomplishments. Hamilton admitted that he doesn’t closely follow social media and news. However, he noted that Verstappen has a large and passionate fan base during race weekends. Hamilton emphasized that Verstappen receives incredible support from his fans due to his exceptional performance on the track.

The 39-year-old driver acknowledged that Verstappen consistently performs well every weekend. Hamilton recognized the strong support system and excellent car that Verstappen has at his disposal. Hamilton believed that Verstappen deserves recognition for his consistent performance and stressed that Red Bull should receive more credit for their achievements on the track.

During the press conference, Verstappen explained that his focus is not only on personal success but on improving the team’s performance. He expressed his desire for the team to work on increasing the speed of their car as he felt it was no longer the fastest. Verstappen highlighted the importance of continuous effort to make small but crucial improvements that can impact his performance on the track.

Furthermore, Verstappen mentioned during the Spanish GP that if he hadn’t overtaken at the start of the race, he would have finished in second place. He emphasized the importance of small differences in determining race results. Verstappen acknowledged that they need to consistently be the fastest to win races, which is currently a challenge for them. This is crucial to improve their speed and achieve more victories in future races.

Verstappen believed that winning alone was not enough in the Spanish GP. Red Bull needs to make improvements in the speed of their car. However, fans were delighted to see Verstappen secure another victory, which contributed crucial points to maintain his lead in both the constructors’ and drivers’ championships.
