After the race, Hamilton expressed his satisfaction with his teammate’s victory. He congratulated George Russell and thanked the team at the Mercedes factories in Brackley and Brixworth for their hard work in improving the car’s performance. Hamilton believed that their dedication had paid off and brought them closer to being the best. He considered the result in Austria as a well-deserved reward for the team’s efforts.

Reflecting on his own performance, Hamilton acknowledged that it had not been the smoothest weekend for him. After an intense battle on lap 19, Hamilton revealed that his car was damaged during a collision with another driver. This resulted in a large hole in the side of his car, making it difficult for him to control it. As a result, Hamilton went off track at turn 1.

Despite the setback, Hamilton looked ahead with optimism to the next race at Silverstone. He highlighted the special atmosphere and the support of the fans at the circuit, and believed that the track’s characteristics could better suit his car. Hamilton chose to move on from the incidents in Austria and focus on what they could achieve in the upcoming races.

Despite facing challenges, Lewis Hamilton acknowledged that his teammate’s victory and the points earned were crucial in reducing the gap in the constructors’ championship. Fans were delighted with George Russell’s surprising victory and were hoping for a similar performance in the Mercedes’ home race at Silverstone.
