Former Ferrari Chief Claims Lewis Hamilton’s Career is Over
Legendary Formula 1 team principal Mattia Binotto has made shocking claims about the future of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton. According to Binotto, Hamilton, who recently made the switch to Ferrari after a long stint with Mercedes, is already “at the end of his career.”
Hamilton’s move to Ferrari was highly anticipated, with hopes that his expertise would lead the team to glory. However, the reality has been far from expectations. Hamilton currently sits in sixth place in the drivers’ championship, a significant 115 points behind the leader after just nine races into the season.
Binotto, who previously led Ferrari and is now the chief operating officer at Sauber, hinted that Ferrari may have missed the opportunity to sign Hamilton at his peak. “Ideally we would have been able to get him a few years earlier,” Binotto expressed.
Despite the disappointing performance so far, Binotto remains optimistic about Ferrari’s future, believing that the team has the potential to turn things around. “They will know how to improve the car and do well in the future, and I think Ferrari can take some satisfaction for this year,” he stated.
Hamilton’s legacy in Formula 1 has been nothing short of extraordinary, but as Binotto suggests, could we be witnessing the decline of a racing icon? Only time will tell how Hamilton’s journey at Ferrari unfolds and whether he can defy the odds once again.
