Lewis Hamilton faces shocking criticism from Ralf Schumacher: ‘sit by and do nothing’ accusation

Title: Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Struggles: Ralf Schumacher’s Shocking Accusation of Inaction

In a fiery revelation that sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, Ralf Schumacher, the six-time Grand Prix champion, has thrown a bombshell critique at Lewis Hamilton, suggesting that the British racing icon has been “sitting by and doing nothing” during a turbulent season with Ferrari. This blistering statement stands in stark contrast to Hamilton’s persistent claims of proactive engagement as he seeks to restore Ferrari to its former glory.

The 2025 F1 season has been nothing short of a nightmare for Hamilton and the Scuderia, with the duo failing to clinch a single Grand Prix victory. Hamilton, who was expected to be the catalyst for Ferrari’s resurgence, has not even graced the podium in his inaugural year with the team. Schumacher, speaking on Sky Deutschland, did not hold back, asserting, “the performance is not good” and implying that Hamilton has fallen short of expectations. Notably, Hamilton himself acknowledged this shortfall earlier in the season, admitting, “I’m not doing a good enough job” after a disheartening outing in Bahrain.

The situation escalated further following a troubling statement from Ferrari chairman John Elkann post-Brazil, which many interpreted as a glaring warning to Hamilton. Elkann’s directive for the team was clear: “focus on driving, talk less.” This admonition did not spare Hamilton, who is now under intense pressure to deliver results.

Where Schumacher’s criticism takes a sharper turn is in his accusation that Hamilton has a “tendency to sit by and do nothing,” a claim that raises eyebrows. “But he’s just not good enough. I believe Ferrari expected more from it,” Schumacher added, leaving fans and analysts alike questioning the validity of such a harsh judgment.

However, Hamilton has been far from passive. He has consistently articulated his commitment to revitalizing Ferrari’s competitive edge. “I’ve sent documents, I’ve done [that] through the year,” Hamilton stated this summer, revealing his proactive approach. “After the first few races, I did a full document for the team. Then during this break [between Britain and Belgium], I had another two documents that I sent in.” His dedication to identifying areas for improvement has been unwavering, as he strives to avoid the fate of past champions like Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel, who also struggled to achieve success with the iconic team.

The Qatar Grand Prix was a particularly bitter chapter for Hamilton, marked by a dismal double Q1 exit. Yet, he remained resolute in his efforts to uplift Ferrari. “I’ve got so many notes in terms of things we need to improve on,” he remarked, emphasizing his belief that change is possible. “There’s literally no reason why we couldn’t fix those if we just put those into action. I’m hopeful for us making progress.”

While it may be fair to critique Hamilton for underperformance, the assertion that he is merely coasting is a misrepresentation of his efforts. Hamilton’s unwavering resolve to challenge every aspect of Ferrari’s operations suggests a driver deeply invested in the team’s success, even amid overwhelming difficulties.

As the 2025 F1 season continues to unfold, the spotlight remains on Hamilton—will he rise to the challenge and silence his critics, or will the accusations of inaction linger in the air? The world is watching, and the clock is ticking for Hamilton to turn the tide and rekindle the roaring spirit of Ferrari.
