Ferrari Boss Slams Critics and Defends Lewis Hamilton’s Tough Start at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur, didn’t hold back in defending Lewis Hamilton against what he labeled as “bulls**t” claims regarding the seven-time world champion’s challenging beginning to the 2025 Formula 1 season with Ferrari.

Hamilton’s struggle at the recent Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, finishing in seventh place, more than 30 seconds behind teammate Charles Leclerc in third, has raised concerns. The British driver expressed his uncertainty about the season ahead, admitting to the difficulties he is facing with the SF-25 car.

However, Vasseur stood firmly behind Hamilton, emphasizing the need for Ferrari to provide him with the necessary support and tools to excel. While acknowledging the current challenges, Vasseur highlighted Hamilton’s potential, citing his impressive performances in China and Bahrain.

Responding to criticisms about Hamilton’s performance regression, Vasseur dismissed the notion, stating, “It’s not dramatically. We did five races so far… At the end of the day, we are in competition. You have ups and downs.”

Drawing a comparison to Max Verstappen’s recent struggles with Red Bull, Vasseur pointed out the differing standards applied to the two drivers. He noted that despite Verstappen’s setbacks, including a sixth-place finish in Bahrain, the Dutch driver was still praised for his strong showings in other races.

Vasseur emphasized the need for patience and a step-by-step approach to address Ferrari’s challenges and improve performance steadily. He stressed the importance of maintaining composure and focusing on continuous progress rather than drastic judgments based on individual race results.

As the 2025 F1 season unfolds, all eyes will be on Hamilton and Ferrari as they work to overcome obstacles and strive for success on the track.
