Lewis Hamilton’s Struggle: A Record-Breaking F1 Nightmare

Lewis Hamilton’s recent performance at the Canadian Grand Prix has set tongues wagging in the F1 world as the British driver faced his worst-ever result at a track where he has been dominant. Hamilton finished sixth in Montreal, failing to secure a podium position for Ferrari once again. This marks the first time in his illustrious 19-season F1 career that he has gone without reaching the rostrum in the first 10 races of a season.

The seven-time world champion’s podium drought seems to be never-ending, with his last F1 grand prix podium appearance dating back to Las Vegas in 2024. Since then, Hamilton has struggled to break into the top three, finishing 12th and fourth in subsequent races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. His longest podium drought stands at 13 races, a record he set between the 2023 Sao Paulo and 2024 Spanish GPs.

As the F1 circus heads to the Austrian Grand Prix, all eyes are on Hamilton to see if he can turn his luck around. With Ferrari showing promise, there is a glimmer of hope that Hamilton might break his own record for the longest podium drought at the British Grand Prix, extending to 14 races since Las Vegas.

Despite his recent challenges, Hamilton does hold the record for the most consecutive podiums at a home grand prix, a feat he has achieved every season since 2014. However, his struggles at Ferrari continue, with the British driver yet to score a podium for the Scuderia.

In the midst of Hamilton’s woes, young gun Oscar Piastri had the opportunity to match his record for the most consecutive podiums for McLaren. However, the Australian driver fell short during the Canadian GP, finishing in fourth place and remaining tied with Ayrton Senna on eight podiums, one behind Hamilton’s record.

The F1 world is abuzz with discussions around Hamilton’s performance, with many questioning if the British driver can bounce back from this streak of bad luck. As the season unfolds, all eyes will be on Hamilton to see if he can reclaim his podium finishes and reignite his championship ambitions.
