“One of my best friends just had a kid, and I’ve seen how manic life becomes after that,” Hamilton said. “I have nieces and nephews, and they are a handful. I know there will be a time and place for it, and I can’t wait for that part of my life, but right now I’ve got work to do.”

He understands that starting a family will require him to shift focus from the relentless demands of Formula 1, but he is confident that the right moment will come in the future.

The racing legend admitted that he prays before every race, not just for his own safety but for all the drivers on the grid. “We’re traveling at crazy speeds, and you have to respect the dangers that come with it,” he said. “That’s why I’m conscious of the time I spend with my family, with my mum. You just never know what could happen—nothing is guaranteed in this sport.”
