Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time champion, has not shied away from expressing his utter disappointment after what he labeled as the “worst experience” at the recent Spanish Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver, who started the race in fifth position, had high hopes of landing his first podium finish with Ferrari. However, Hamilton struggled with speed right from the beginning, leading to a series of setbacks during the race.

Despite an initial instruction from Ferrari to allow his teammate Charles Leclerc to overtake him, Hamilton’s performance failed to improve. Even a late safety car deployment did not work in his favor, as he continued to lose ground and was even overtaken by Nico Hulkenberg from Stake after the restart. When questioned about his difficulties, Hamilton admitted to being clueless, stating, “I have no idea why it was so bad… That was the worst experience balance-wise.”

In a bid to salvage some positivity from the race, Hamilton was pressed to identify any silver linings but confessed there were “zero” positives to take away. Meanwhile, his teammate Lando Norris managed to secure a third-place finish, marking his third podium of the season.

The Spanish Grand Prix undoubtedly proved to be a challenging and frustrating event for Hamilton, raising questions about his performance and the future of his partnership with Ferrari. As the Formula 1 season unfolds, all eyes will be on Hamilton to see how he bounces back from this significant setback and whether he can reclaim his dominance on the track.
