Carlos Sainz had a relatively unremarkable race at Imola in the second Ferrari car, finishing in fifth place. He expressed his dissatisfaction, stating: “I cannot be pleased with what was a challenging race for me. I need to review it with the team to understand why I didn’t feel comfortable with the car, both during qualifying and in terms of pace today. Tomorrow, we will meet and start preparations for Monaco, hoping for a better result. The competition at the top is becoming increasingly fierce, and we must keep pushing forward,” concluded the Spaniard.

Fred Vasseur, team principal of Ferrari, expressed his gratitude to the loyal fans who witnessed his podium finish in his home race. However, he also expressed disappointment with his performance during qualifying and praised the advancements made with the enhanced SF-24 car.

Vasseur acknowledged the support of the tifosi and their immense contribution to boosting the team’s morale throughout the week. Despite the positives of the weekend, he admitted that their on-track performance could have been better.

The challenging nature of the circuit made overtaking difficult, but Vasseur highlighted their ability to close the gap by applying pressure. However, they had to be cautious to avoid tire overheating. Ultimately, the result of the Grand Prix was heavily influenced by their qualifying performance, and Vasseur emphasized the need for improvement in the upcoming races.

The Frenchman also praised the thrilling race, which showcased the competitiveness of Formula 1. With three teams finishing within less than seven seconds after over 60 laps, the differences between them were less than a tenth of a second per lap. This demonstrates the increased pace and potential of Ferrari, although Vasseur recognizes the need for further progress.

In conclusion, Vasseur expressed his satisfaction with the current pace of the team and its ability to compete for the top position. However, he acknowledged the importance of taking one more step forward to achieve their ultimate goal.
