Leclerc Fights for Podium as McLaren Dominates: Ferrari’s Dramatic Battle for Silver!

Ferrari’s Leclerc: “Never say never, but for now, we’re in 3rd place”

In a shocking revelation, Ferrari’s star driver, Charles Leclerc, has admitted that McLaren seems to be outpacing them this season. In an interview with Sky Italia, Leclerc openly acknowledged McLaren’s monstrous progress this year, leaving Ferrari to battle it out with Mercedes and Red Bull for the second spot in the championship standings.

The first free practice sessions of the Hungarian Grand Prix have only solidified this narrative, with McLaren’s Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri leading the pack, and Leclerc trailing in third place, four-tenths behind the leader. Despite the upcoming FP3 session before Qualifying, the prospect of overtaking McLaren on Saturday seems like a daring exercise in optimism for Ferrari, given their current form in 2025.

Speaking to Canal Plus at the end of Friday, Leclerc cautiously summarized his day, stating, “The feeling is good, for now, I would say we are behind McLaren but ahead of the others. So we will see, I hope that in Q3 we can do better than third place, which currently seems to be our position. I think tomorrow will be very difficult to beat the McLarens. They seem to be ahead, but never say never.”

As the Hungarian Grand Prix unfolds, all eyes are on Ferrari and Leclerc, as they grapple with the fierce competition posed by McLaren’s remarkable performance this season. Will Leclerc defy the odds and secure a higher position on the grid, or will McLaren continue to dominate the field? Stay tuned for the electrifying climax of this high-stakes race weekend.
