Le Mans Shock: Franck Perera Joins VDS Panis LMP2 Team for Epic Showdown

The racing world is abuzz with the latest announcement from VDS Panis Racing – Franck Perera has officially joined the team for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans! This seasoned driver will be completing the driver line-up for the No. 48 LMP2 ORECA 07 alongside Oliver Gray and Esteban Masson.

VDS Panis Racing recently secured second place in the LMP2 category (third overall) at the ELMS season opener in Barcelona. With the talented Alpine factory driver Charles Milesi busy with Hypercar duties, the team needed a skilled replacement, and they found just that in Franck Perera. Known for his success in single-seaters, endurance racing, and GT cars, Perera is set to bring his expertise to the Le Mans circuit.

Having previously clinched the ELMS GTC (GT3) title in 2015, Perera is no stranger to victory. His experience as a Lamborghini factory driver since 2018 and his debut at Le Mans last year make him a valuable addition to the VDS Panis Racing team. Perera expressed his excitement about the upcoming challenge, stating, “I am ready to take on the challenge in LMP2, where the level is extremely high. I can’t wait to begin this Le Mans adventure alongside my talented young teammates Esteban and Oliver.”

Team principal Xavier Combet shared his enthusiasm about Perera’s return, highlighting the driver’s professionalism, experience, and impressive track record. Combet emphasized Perera’s consistency and outstanding results across various championships, underscoring his immense value as a driver.

The stage is set for an electrifying race at Le Mans, with Franck Perera revving up to make his mark alongside the VDS Panis Racing team. Racing enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the adrenaline-pumping action that is sure to unfold at this prestigious event.
