Tensions Explode at 2025 Sao Paulo GP: Liam Lawson Blasts Isack Hadjar After Fiery Clash!

In a dramatic showdown at the 2025 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, Liam Lawson has thrown down the gauntlet, placing the blame squarely on teammate Isack Hadjar following a controversial wheel-banging incident on Lap 71. The scene unfolded at the iconic Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, where the stakes were high as both Racing Bulls drivers battled fiercely for seventh place.

As the race reached its nail-biting climax on November 8, Hadjar, the daring French rookie, attempted a bold maneuver around Lawson into the notoriously tricky Senna Esses. With the clock ticking down, the 21-year-old driver, of Algerian descent, pushed the limits, trying to seize the optimal racing line while simultaneously squeezing Lawson on the inside—a precarious move that would ultimately lead to disaster.

Exiting the Esses is crucial, as it sets up drivers for a potential DRS overtaking opportunity into Turn 4. Hadjar’s aggressive approach, however, backfired when he miscalculated the space between their cars, resulting in a collision that left Lawson with the advantage and an invaluable position intact.

In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports F1, Lawson did not hold back in expressing his frustration about the clash. “Yeah… He [Hadjar] was going for a move,” the 23-year-old Kiwi stated, reflecting on the intense moment. “It’s the type of corner that curves in, and he’s obviously trying to clear me before the braking. I think he just misjudged it.”

Despite the collision, both drivers managed to continue, much to the relief of their team. Lawson acknowledged the positive outcome, emphasizing the importance of scoring points. “Honestly, we both came out of it, so it was okay, and more importantly for the team to have two cars… Seventh and eighth is great today,” he said.

While Lawson pointed the finger at Hadjar for the collision, he remained respectful of his teammate’s audacious attempt. With the pressure of the championship standings on their shoulders, both drivers were vying for every precious point, with seventh place worth six points in the fiercely competitive midfield.

“It’s the last lap of the race,” Lawson continued, underscoring the high-stakes nature of the situation. “I think there’s no way the team can expect, or anybody can expect that we’re not going to race for a position like that. So, I respect it. Obviously, we’re lucky that we came out of it, but it’s been a great weekend for the team.”

As the dust settles on this electrifying race, one thing is clear: the battle for supremacy within the Racing Bulls team is heating up. With Lawson and Hadjar both pushing the limits in their quest for glory, fans can expect more thrilling moments as the season progresses. Will this clash spark a rivalry, or will the duo find a way to coexist as they chase their Formula 1 dreams? Only time will tell!
