In a stunning turnaround, Lando Norris shines at the F1 Canadian Grand Prix after a disastrous Friday for McLaren. The young driver surged to the top of the timesheets in the final free practice session, leaving his rivals in awe with a blistering time of 1m11.799s. Despite labeling Friday as the “worst of the year” for McLaren, Norris proved his resilience and determination on Saturday.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Championship leader Oscar Piastri found himself in a precarious position after a brush with the infamous ‘wall of champions’, resulting in a right rear puncture and a red flag interruption. Despite his best efforts, Piastri struggled to match his teammate’s pace and ended the session in eighth place, trailing Norris by seven tenths of a second.

The session saw its fair share of drama, with Nico Hulkenberg and Oliver Bearman both flirting with disaster at the final chicane. Max Verstappen put in a solid performance, securing the fifth fastest time, while Fernando Alonso impressed in his Aston Martin.

As the teams grappled with tire strategies, every driver pushed to the limit on the softest compound available. Charles Leclerc led the charge on the medium tire initially, but the field eventually converged on the C6 compound for the fastest laps in FP3.

Despite the ups and downs of the session, all eyes are now on qualifying, where the true potential of each team will be put to the test. With Norris leading the pack, the stage is set for an electrifying battle for pole position at the Canadian Grand Prix.
