Lando Norris alega que o Safety Car no Grande Prêmio da Arábia Saudita prejudicou suas chances de um resultado notável.

Lando Norris finished eighth in the Saudi Arabian GP, despite initially showing promising speed in the first half of the race.

McLaren driver Lando Norris had a tumultuous race in Saudi Arabia. He narrowly avoided a collision with Yuki Tsunoda on pit lane and later took the lead for a few laps after the safety car was deployed due to Lance Stroll’s crash. However, this affected his strategy.

Red Bull made an early pit stop for their two drivers during the safety car period, allowing them to take the lead. Norris, on the other hand, dropped to fourth place before making his stop after the safety car period. He mentioned that the team took a risk with this strategy.

Norris also commented that another safety car later in the race would have made the drivers look like heroes on track. Unfortunately, his strategy did not give him much advantage, as he finished eighth despite qualifying in sixth. He acknowledged that the team could have scored more points, but also recognized that the failed strategy could have been costly.

Furthermore, Norris discussed tire degradation during the race. He expected better performance from the soft compound tires used in the latter part of the race, but they degraded earlier than expected, causing difficulties in managing them.

Despite the challenges faced during the race, Norris successfully defended his position against Lewis Hamilton, finishing one place ahead of the seven-time world champion. He was pleased with the result, considering the issues encountered. Norris believed that the team’s performance was commendable and earned them enough points to maintain the lead over Mercedes.

A McLaren, with its young drivers Lando Norris and [driver’s name], has shown impressive speed and performance. They currently have more points than Brackley and will likely maintain their lead if they continue to perform well. This sets up an exciting battle between the two teams for a higher position in the constructors’ championship.
