Lando Norris acredita que ninguém na Fórmula 1 jamais conseguirá replicar a carreira duradoura de Fernando Alonso.

Fernando Alonso made his first appearance in 2001 at the Australian Grand Prix and has since become the driver to be admired every race weekend.

Alonso has had a long and elusive career in Formula 1. The Spaniard was responsible for interrupting McLaren and Ferrari’s domination in the early 2000s and has maintained a high level of performance since then. Furthermore, with his recent contract renewal, he is set to further solidify his legacy. Now, McLaren’s focus has shifted to highlighting Alonso’s remarkable longevity.

Fernando Alonso is known for his unwavering determination to win and achieve the elusive third championship. After coming out of retirement, he returned to the F1 grid in 2021. While it used to be common for F1 drivers to compete until they were 50 years old, such long career spans spanning two decades are unprecedented in the modern era. Therefore, Lando Norris believes that the 42-year-old driver’s record in F1 will never be matched again.

The Englishman states that Alonso is one of the few exceptions, as the consistent effort and determination he shows may never be witnessed again in F1. Furthermore, Norris admits uncertainty about his own future in F1 due to the physical and mental wear and tear on drivers and praises Alonso for his exceptional skills.

With the two-time champion renewing his contract, he will continue to compete in F1 until at least 45 years old. However, it is still uncertain whether Alonso will eventually retire, considering his impressive recent performances.

When asked about his passion for F1, the 42-year-old driver expressed that the sacrifices he makes for the race are worth it because it is his passion that drives him to push beyond his limits. He also states that he dedicates himself entirely to F1 and lives for the sport, making any adjustments to his routine insignificant compared to the excitement provided by F1.

Furthermore, the former champion currently holds the eighth position in the provisional drivers’ standings. He aims to improve this in Miami and surpass the driver ahead of him, who is only two points ahead.
