Lando Norris attributes slower pace compared to Lewis Hamilton for British Grand Prix defeat

Lando Norris has been unable to secure multiple victories this season due to his poor decision-making during crucial moments on the track. Despite being in the best form of his career, Norris has only managed to win one race out of 14 F1 rounds.

Norris’s tendency to make mistakes at critical points in races has been a widely discussed topic throughout the season. One notable example of his misjudgment occurred at the British GP, where he was defeated by Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.

The 24-year-old driver has acknowledged that even if he had managed to surpass Hamilton after pitting at Silverstone, he would have ultimately lost the race. Norris recognized Hamilton’s exceptional speed at Silverstone and was cautious about his own chances beforehand.

Reflecting on his missed opportunities, Norris has been quite self-critical in the past. As McLaren heads into the second half of the season after the summer break, Norris aims to start anew and strive for more victories and podium finishes.

McLaren’s team principal, Andrea Stella, has expressed admiration for the team’s performance in the first half of the ongoing campaign. With two wins and 12 podium finishes, McLaren has accumulated a total of 366 points.

Stella highlighted the MCL38’s impressive performance in areas that require high downforce, and he commended the team for successfully achieving the desired aerodynamic behavior in the car.

Currently trailing Red Bull by only 42 points in the title race, McLaren finds itself in the closest position to the championship in over a decade. The team hopes to maintain the same level of intensity throughout the remainder of the season.
