Lancia Ypsilon está de regresso agora em modo 100% elétrico

Lancia started this Thursday, another chapter in its long history with 117 years, by presenting the new Ypsilon, a 100% electric model that marks the rebirth of the Italian brand on a global level.

The fourth generation of the well-known city car, currently only available in the exclusive New Lancia Ypsilon Cassina Limited Edition version, limited to 1906 units, in homage to the year of the brand’s foundation, numbered and certified, confirms the design strongly inspired by the Pu+Ra HPE prototype, and reflects the utmost attention to every stylistic detail, from the selection of materials to the choice of colors: blue is used as the iconic tone of Lancia tradition, which appears both inside and outside the car.

In this way, the Ypsilon debuts Lancia’s new style language and integrates the illuminated version of the “chalice” grille, while the brand’s shield is transferred to the rear pillars, and the name ‘Lancia’ now appears with laser-cut letters embedded in the hood. The round rear lights are inspired by the iconic Lancia Stratos, a characteristic that was anticipated by the Pu+Ra HPE concept and will be a trademark of future Lancia models, the Gamma crossover arriving in 2026 and the Delta hatchback scheduled for 2028.

Still on the exterior, highlight the polygonal headlights that are mounted lower than usual on the front bumper and feature glossy black details on the outside.

In the interior, Lancia has used high-quality materials for this exclusive version, with unique design features, so that the cabin resembles an Italian living room, according to the brand, with fabric finishes, a work that results from the collaboration with Cassina, an Italian brand of high-end furniture, which contributed to the choice of materials and colors.

The ‘lounge’ effect is obviously provided by the seats, which in this limited version of the Ypsilon are upholstered in a special blue velvet fabric with the “cannelloni” pattern, a circular central console that resembles a coffee table, along with two 10.25” digital screens, one located behind the steering wheel for the instrument panel and another that debuts the new SALA (Sound Air Light Augmentation) infotainment system, which will be used throughout the future range and is compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Using the e-CMP2 platform, the same one used by the Peugeot 2008, Jeep Avenger, among several other models of the Stellantis Group, the Lancia Ypsilon uses the same electric mechanics used by the Peugeot E-208 or the Opel Corsa-e, just to name a few, being equipped with a single electric motor mounted in the front that produces 156 hp of power and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, allowing for an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 150 km/h.

The electric motor is powered by a 51 kWh battery, which offers a range of up to 403 km, in WLTP cycle. The Italian brand also revealed that the Lancia Ypsilon’s battery can be charged from 20 to 80% in just 24 minutes, in fast chargers, or enough to travel 100 km of range in 10 minutes.

The 100% electric Lancia Ypsilon will be followed by a version that is expected to inherit the 1.2-liter turbo engine with three cylinders and mild hybrid 48V technology, although Lancia has not yet officially confirmed the technical specifications.

“With the new Lancia Ypsilon, the first car of the new era of the Brand, we are relaunching ourselves, once again from Italy. Its design is inspired by the glorious past of the Brand, now reinterpreted in a modern way. The model represents the ultimate expression of comfort and onboard design, characterized by leading technology and connectivity in its category, but always simple and intuitive, in the perfect Lancia style. This result was also made possible thanks to the collaboration with Cassina, which, together with our Stile Center in Turin, designed a true living room, inspired by cozy Italian homes”, said Luca Napolitano, CEO of Lancia.
