Lancia has announced the start of production of the new Ypsilon, which is expected to hit European roads soon.
The new generation of the Ypsilon comes with an electric motor, the same electric mechanics used by the Peugeot E-208 or the Opel Corsa-e, just to name a few, being equipped with a single electric motor mounted in the front that produces 156 hp of power and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, allowing for an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 150 km/h.
The electric motor is powered by a 51 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 403 km in WLTP cycle. The Italian brand also revealed that the Lancia Ypsilon’s battery can be charged from 20 to 80% in just 24 minutes at fast chargers, or enough to cover 100 km of range in 10 minutes.
In addition to the 100% electric version, the new Lancia Ypsilon will feature a hybrid variant that combines a 1.2-liter three-cylinder combustion engine, a six-speed e-DCT automatic transmission, and a 48 V mild hybrid system, providing a power of 100 hp.
With these numbers the hybrid version of the Lancia Ypsilon accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.3 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 190 km/h.
