Lancia roars back to WRC with Yohan Rossel and Nikolay Gryazin leading the charge

Lancia Roars Back into the WRC Arena with Dynamic Duo Yohan Rossel and Nikolay Gryazin

In a thrilling announcement that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport community, Team Lancia Corse HF is set to make a grand return to the World Rally Championship (WRC) with two of the sport’s most promising talents leading the charge. Yohan Rossel, the 2025 WRC2 championship runner-up, is teaming up with co-driver Arnaud Dunand, while Nikolay Gryazin, the 2025 WRC2 Challenger Champion, will partner with Konstantin Aleksandrov. Together, they will pilot the formidable Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale cars, expertly managed by PH Sport, with their inaugural competition scheduled for the iconic Rallye Monte Carlo starting January 22.

Roberta Zerbi, the dynamic CEO of Lancia, expressed her enthusiasm for this monumental milestone, stating, “Lancia’s return to world rallying is an important step, and we approach it with a strong sense of responsibility. Yohan and Nikolay bring distinct perspectives, a modern understanding of the sport, and the right attitude to grow alongside our project.” She confidently added, “The Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale was created to compete at the highest level, and the work of the Lancia Corse HF team allows us to look at this new chapter with confidence and clarity. See you in Monte-Carlo in January!”

The excitement surrounding Lancia’s comeback is palpable. Yohan Rossel, who has a rich history with Stellantis’ Citroen brand, shared his fervor for joining Lancia, remarking, “Discovering Lancia’s pedigree and listening to Miki Biasion, who compares Lancia to Ferrari, you immediately understand it is a brand that commands respect.” Rossel’s pride is evident as he embraces this new journey, stating, “This new chapter will give real momentum to my career: a new manufacturer, great ambitions, and the desire to go even further with the project… to win.”

Meanwhile, Nikolay Gryazin, fresh from his success with Skoda, is equally enthusiastic about this prestigious opportunity. “I am very proud to join Team Lancia Corse HF as an official driver for the 2026 season. Lancia has an iconic history in rallying, and it is a tremendous honour for me to be part of this story,” Gryazin declared. He further emphasized their shared ambition, stating, “With the team, we share the same ambitions: to fight at the front, to keep improving every day, and to bring this legendary name back to its rightful place. I want to thank Team Lancia Corse HF for their trust, as well as my partners and fans for their continued support.”

The resurgence of Lancia has sparked an unprecedented wave of interest, with over 40 cars already ordered for competition across international and national championships. This surge not only highlights the brand’s storied legacy in motorsport but also signifies a bright future as it aims to reclaim its status among the elite in rally racing.

As the countdown to Rallye Monte Carlo begins, fans and competitors alike eagerly await what promises to be an electrifying season. Lancia is not just making a comeback; it is reasserting its dominance in the world of rallying, and with Rossel and Gryazin at the helm, the competition better be ready. The stage is set for a spectacular showdown, and Lancia is back where it belongs—at the forefront of motorsport excellence!
