Lancia Gamma vai trazer versões híbridas

It was already known that Lancia is working on a new electric model, the Gamma, which is set to hit the market. However, the news is that Stellantis has now announced that the range of the new model from the Italian brand will include hybrid versions.

The news was revealed during a roundtable that Stellantis held with the Italian minister, Adolfo Urso, during which the automotive group confirmed that it will invest €2 billion in Italian production, as part of a strategy aimed at strengthening Stellantis’s relationship with the Italian government.

The Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis for the Extended Europe region, Jean-Philippe Imparato, revealed that the Gamma will include hybrid engines to meet the growing market demand for this type of powertrain.

“The decision to expand the offering of the new model with electrified engines represents a concrete response to the real market demand and allows any mobility needs to be met. All of this translates into a predictable growth in production volumes and consequently an increase in the brand’s competitiveness in the global market.”, stated Lancia in a statement.

It should be noted that the Lancia Gamma is based on Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform, which supports hybrid and electric configurations, with the fully electric version promising a range of up to 700 km. Production of the model is scheduled to begin at the Melfi plant in Italy in 2026.
