The IMSA officially revealed the list of participants for the upcoming 12 Hours of Sebring, which will take place on March 16. This highly anticipated endurance race for sports cars will feature a total of 58 competitors in four different categories. One of the highlights of the event will be the debut of the Lamborghini Iron Lynx in the GTP category, adding even more excitement to the race.
In the GTP category, Lamborghini will compete with its SC63 LMDh in the second stage of the Endurance Cup campaign. Car #63 will be driven by factory drivers Matteo Cairoli, Andrea Caldarelli, and Romain Grosjean, making their North American debut. They will face off against 10 other GTP cars, promising an exciting competition.
The GTP category will also feature Matt Campbell, who will continue as a driver in the Endurance Cup in the #7 Porsche Penske 963. Campbell emerged victorious in the season opener at the 24 Hours of Daytona in January, making him a strong contender for the upcoming race.
In the LMP2 category, all 13 teams that competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona will be present, including the Sean Creech Motorsport team with the #33 Ligier JS P217. Despite a challenging start at the opener, which resulted in their retirement, the team is determined to make a comeback at Sebring. They will face off against 12 Oreca 07 LMP2 cars, including the #18 Era Motorsport, which triumphed in its category at Daytona.
DragonSpeed and the #11 TDS Racing Oreca team have not yet confirmed their Bronze drivers, who will join their respective teams alongside Malthe Jakobsen, Rasmus Lindh, Mikkel Jensen, and Hunter McElrea. These additions will further strengthen their teams and increase their chances of success.
The GTD Pro category will feature 12 teams from nine different manufacturers. Among them, the Chevrolet Z06 GT3.Rs, Ford Multimatic Mustang GT3s, and Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2s from Iron Lynx will be the highlights. The Lamborghini #60 car, in particular, will feature Leonardo Pulcini, Matteo Cressoni, and Claudio Schiavoni as teammates, increasing the excitement of the race.
Finally, the GTD category will have the largest number of competitors, with 22 entries. This promises a highly competitive and action-packed race as drivers from various teams battle for victory.
