Lamborghini Temerario Supercar Scooped Up Close Ahead of August 16 Premiere
ADVERTISEMENT

Prepare to be astonished as Lamborghini bids farewell to the iconic V10 motor, which powered its predecessor, the Huracan. In a bold move, the Italian automaker has opted for a smaller, turbocharged mill. This new powertrain boasts two turbos and two fewer cylinders, all while benefiting from electric assistance. The result? A powerhouse of a machine that promises unrivaled performance.

Under the hood of the Lamborghini Temerario lies a bi-turbo V8 engine, its exact output shrouded in secrecy. However, we can confirm that three electric motors provide additional support, resulting in a mind-boggling total output exceeding 900 European horsepower (887+ bhp/662+ kW). Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, previously teased this beast on social media, referring to it as the 634 (internal codename).

Comparing the Temerario to its larger sibling, the Revuelto, which replaced the Aventador, we find a slight power discrepancy. While the Revuelto utilizes a naturally aspirated V12 engine and three electric motors, the Temerario falls slightly behind in terms of power, with a difference of approximately 100 horsepower. Nonetheless, we can still expect exhilarating acceleration, with the Revuelto reaching 62 mph (100 kph) in a mere two and a half seconds. The Huracan’s successor is likely to deliver a similar jaw-dropping performance.

Enthusiasts with deep pockets can anticipate production of the Temerario to commence in the near future, with deliveries expected around December or early next year. This electrified marvel will join the ranks of Lamborghini’s other hybrid models, such as the Revuelto and Urus SE (PHEV), undoubtedly cementing its status as a best-seller. Stay tuned for the highly anticipated grand unveiling at the Monterey Car Week on August 16, 2024, where we hope to uncover every detail about this sensational supercar.

We want to hear from you, our valued readers! What are your thoughts on Lamborghini’s decision to embrace the hybrid V8-powered route for their entry-level supercar? And how do you feel about the Temerario’s design? If money were no object, would you be tempted to make this beauty your own? Share your opinions in the comments below!
