The new Lamborghini Temerario stands out as one of the most ambitious projects from the Italian brand, combining state-of-the-art hybrid technology with a version dedicated to competition, the Temerario GT3. The connection between both reveals an integrated approach between design and engineering from the early stages of development.
A design conceived for performance from the outset
According to Mitja Borkert, design director of Automobili Lamborghini, the Temerario was designed to immediately convey the brand's identity, with athletic proportions and sharp lines.
The aesthetic philosophy was defined with competition in mind from the beginning, allowing for a natural transition to the GT3 version. Elements such as aerodynamic surfaces, aggressive stance, and visual balance were maintained, ensuring a common identity between the two versions.
Hybrid with 920 hp and Lamborghini DNA
In the road version, the Temerario integrates a plug-in hybrid system that combines:
- biturbo V8 engine
- three electric motors
- total power of 920 hp
This configuration allows for extremely rapid acceleration and a top speed exceeding 340 km/h, while still maintaining the possibility of everyday use.
GT3 abandons electrification to compete
The Temerario GT3 version, developed by Squadra Corse, adapts to the FIA GT3 category rules, eliminating electric motors and retaining only the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8.
The focus shifts to consistent performance on the track and balance within the limitations imposed by the Balance of Performance.
Competition-oriented engineering
The GT3 features race-specific solutions, including:
- bodywork made from lightweight composite materials
- quick-release sections
- modular components to facilitate interventions during the race
These adaptations allow for optimized performance and efficiency during endurance competitions.
Two interiors, two philosophies
The differences between road and track become more evident in the cabin:
- Temerario de estrada: comfort, ergonomics, and technology for daily use
- Temerario GT3: minimalist cockpit, focused on the driver and compliant with FIA standards
The same essence in two worlds
Despite the technical differences, both models share the same conceptual foundation: emotion, functionality, and performance.
The challenge for Lamborghini was not just to adapt a road car to a competition model, but to carry its DNA into a machine capable of competing at the highest level.
A new milestone in the brand's history
With the Temerario, Lamborghini demonstrates that electrification can coexist with the emotional identity of the brand, while also reinforcing its presence in motorsport.
