One Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster, one of the 132 produced for the North American market by the Italian brand between 1997 and 1999, and which belonged to Donald Trump until the former US president sold it in 2002, was auctioned for a record-breaking value of $1.1 million (about €1 million), which is more than double the price it was sold for in 2016, when the same supercar from Maranello was put up for sale on eBay.
The blue Le Mans Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster was auctioned by Barret-Jackson at an event that took place over the weekend in Scottsdale, Arizona, and besides the exclusive color, the model was personalized to the liking of the former US president and therefore features a plaque with the inscription “Diablo 1997 by Donald Trump” installed on the driver’s door.
Although it has passed through the hands of other owners since 2002, the Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster was auctioned with 24,834 km registered on the odometer. Equipped with a 5.7-liter, 48-valve V12 engine mounted in a central position, this supercar offers a power of 492 hp at 7000 rpm and a maximum torque of 430 Nm.
